A Celebration of Life for Yvonne Marie McLemore, age 77, will be held on Wednesday, January 7th at 1:00 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Yvonne passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, December 26th. Services will be officiated by Hixson Celebrant Jody Tyler.
Visitation will be held at Hixson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 7th, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Yvonne was born in Wink, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Lake Charles. She and her beloved husband, Charles, founded Burglar Alarms and Security in 1974 and operated the company together until its sale in 2012. A quiet Southern lady, Yvonne took great pride in caring for her family and warmly welcoming friends and loved ones into her home. She enjoyed shopping, Pilates, and, most of all, spending time with her family.
Yvonne’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved deeply and selflessly, always placing the needs of others before her own. As a mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, she was a source of comfort, wisdom, and steady strength. Her presence made people feel safe, known, and truly loved.
Yvonne is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, Charles McLemore; her son, Charles McLemore, Jr., and his wife, Jill; her daughter, Nicole Leger, and her husband, Mike, all of Lake Charles; four grandchildren: Peyton McLemore and his wife Abigail, Kennedy Diamond and her husband Bryce, and Jake and Luke Leger; and one great-grandchild, Tate Diamond, all of Lake Charles. She is also survived by her brothers, Barry Peyton and his wife Donna of Loreauville, and Rusty Peyton and his wife Becky of Lafayette; along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. Peyton and Marie Abadie Peyton, and her brother, William Peyton, Jr.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at LeeAnna’s Caregiving Service and Allegiance Hospice for their exceptional care and kindness.
Though she will be deeply missed, Yvonne’s family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, embraced by God’s eternal love. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved her and in the family she cherished so deeply.
