Amber Ann Simmons was born on September 7, 2009, and passed on July 27, 2026, after a tragic accident. Amber with her world brightening smile will be dearly missed by her parents Todd and Julie Simmons, the Schlappi family, her grandparents Sandy Simmons, Paul and Judy Jackson, Steve and Debbie Stair, Tammy Bush, special Aunt Shelby, many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and close friends.
Amber had a love of all animals and nature, which started as her grandpa Paul’s sidekick. She learned to cook with her mother and had planned to attend culinary school. She was very mechanical, hands-on and always ready to do a project with her dad. She found her Savior and was living her faith while discovering what it meant to her.
Amber had a crush on a boy in elementary school, that crush became the love of her life, Ethan Schlappi. They were a perfect couple for the last three years, living their best life while enjoying derbies and caring for their ducks, chickens, and tiger cat Buck. Ethan left this world two days before Amber to prepare for their eternity together.
When Amber got her driver’s license a few months ago, she chose to designate herself as an organ donor. Following a beautiful “Honor Walk” at the hospital she gave the ultimate gifts so many others could live.
A celebration of life gathering will be held at 1 pm Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Simmons home, 9341 West Grand Ledge Highway, Sunfield, all are invited to join and remember Amber. Please bring your favorite photo and memory to share.
