Barbara E. Meyers

Barbara E. Meyers, 78, of Woodland, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids. She was born March 25, 1933 in Lansing, the daughter of Harold and Blanche (Moore) Golden. She married Vern V. Meyers on July 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2000. Barbara and her husband, Vern, worked for many years as Custodians at Lakewood United Methodist Church where they were also members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vern; sister, Mary Musser. Surviving are her children, Lawrence H. (Sandra) Meyers, Susan J. (Richard) Peters, Anthony V. (Debbie) Meyers, Teresa A. (Rick) Jenkins, Alan L. Meyers; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; sisters, Elva Youngs and Margie Ailles. Visitation with the family will be held from 6-9pm on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Koops Funeral Chapel – Lake Odessa. Funeral Services for Barbara will be conducted at 11 am on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, preceded by one hour of visitation, at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 10265 E. Brown Road, Lake Odessa, with Pastor David Flagel, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park. Memorial donations in Barbara's name may be directed to Lakewood United Methodist Church.
