Bonnie M. Norton

LaVaune M. "Bonnie" Norton, age 88, of Woodland, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Woodlawn Meadows in Hastings. She was born February 7, 1923 in Byron Center the daughter of Clarence and Anna (Valkesma) Welch. She graduated from Nashville High School in Nashville, MI in 1940 and was married to Donald R. Norton on March 8, 1941 and they were married for over 58 years until his death on July 13, 1999. Bonnie worked for JC Penney and Hastings City Bank. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald R. Norton; son-in-law, Gene Lubitz; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Bonnie will be lovingly remembered by her children, Janice Lubitz of Woodland, Robert (Dee) Norton of Lansing and Carole "Carrie" (Mike) Norris of Hastings; 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Memorial services for Bonnie will be conducted at 11 am on Monday, February 21, 2011, preceded by visitation from 10 -11 am, at the Kilpatrick United Brethren Church (corner of M-66 and Barnum Rd), Woodland.
