Dale F. Cunningham

Dale F. Cunningham, age 86, of Lake Odessa passed away on Saturday, August 09, 2014 at his home after a long battle with cancer. Dale was born November 8, 1927 in Barry County to Cecil "Zeke" and Lottie (Gilliland) Cunningham. He was a 1947 graduate of Woodland High School where he was very active in basketball and track and field. Dale served proudly in the US Army in Korea. On February 22, 1953 Dale married Nancy Winey and she survives. Dale worked in the Maintenance Department at GM for many years. He was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, VWF post 4461, Lake Odessa Historical Society, UAW Local 652 Retiree Chapter and the Union Bank Class Act Club. Together Dale and Nancy loved to travel visiting every state in the Union, along with many Canadian provinces. Dale also loved to garden and do yard work. Survivors include: wife Nancy, son Bill (Dean Londo) Cunningham, daughter Carol (Thomas) Sprague, brother-in-law Elmer (Delores) Winey grandchildren Thomas Sprague III, Michael Sprague and Katherine Sprague. Preceding Dale in death: his parents, brothers Dareld, Arnold, Ronald, sisters-in-law Audra and Rosie Cunningham. Visitation is planned for Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from 2pm till 4pm and 6pm till 8pm at the Koops Funeral Chapel 935 4th Ave. P.O Box 565, Lake Odessa MI 48849. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 11am at the Lakewood United Methodist Church 10265 Brown Road, Lake Odessa, MI 48849. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Lake Odessa, MI. Memorials may be given to Lakewood United Methodist Church, VFW Post 4461 or Spectrum Hospice.
