Darwin A. Mcclelland

Darwin A. "Harv" McClelland, Jr., aged 65, of Woodland, passed away unexpectedly on November 10, 2009. Harv was born in Woodland Twp., MI on April 4, 1944 to Darwin and Dorothy (Rogers) McClelland. He was a graduate of Woodland High School, and had served in Viet Nam from 1967-1968 in the 199th Light Infantry Brigade, 40th Artillery, A Battery. Harv had retired from General Motors in Lansing after 32 years of service, and had been a life-long farmer in the Woodland area. He was life member of the Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post #4461 in Lake Odessa, and had been instrumental in the creation and care of the Veteran's Memorial at Woodland Memorial Park. Harv was preceded in death by his son, Dean McClelland; and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Deidra McClelland; brother, Phil and Jane McClelland; nephew, Duffy and Melissa McClelland and their children, Sam and Rylie; niece, Heather McClelland and John Bethell; and the mother of his children, JoAnn (Gary) Roth of Sunfield. A Time of Remembrance will be held from 5-8 PM on Sunday, November 15 at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa. Private family services will be held at Woodland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Harv's family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Township for the Veteran's Memorial at Woodland Memorial Park.
