David J Vandecar

David J VandeCar “DJ”, age 61, of Lake Odessa passed away suddenly on Friday, October 17, 2025. DJ was born on February 20, 1964 in Hastings, MI to David A and Alice Marie (Dravenstate) VandeCar. He was a graduate of Lakewood High School in 1983 and later graduated from Northern Business College in 1987 with a degree in Diesel Mechanics. DJ loved to hunt and ride his Harley. He had quite the green thumb growing lots of flowers and vegetables. The family remembers the marathon canning sessions in the barn preserving his bounty.

DJ leaves behind his life partner Aimee Morehouse, children Shelbie (Cameron) Warren, Courtnie (Taylor) Stidham, Cole (Elisabeth) VandeCar, Stasi Richards, Chris Hopkins, Alex Hopkins, siblings Dan (Shannon) VandeCar, Brett VandeCar, grandchildren Atticus, Bristol, Rhett, Hank, Lilly, and one more on the way, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

He was preceded by his parents and grandparents, and lots of friends.

According to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service is planned for Saturday 25, 2025 at the Living Gospel Church 1600 Rochester St, Lake Odessa MI 48849 starting at 1pm with a Celebration of life gathering starting at 2pm until 4pm.
