Dennis Irwin Decker

Dennis was born on October 3, 1951, to Orville and Virginia (Varney) Decker in Hastings, MI. Family and friends will never forget what a unique, humorous character and genuine friend he was. Dennis was an MSU Alumni & Sparty at heart. He retired in 2008 from General Motors after 30 years of service. He enjoyed the great outdoors, being on the lake, and especially fishing, as he was an avid fisherman. In 2000, he married Darlene (Euler) Decker, and they had 22 years of love and adventure. Dennis loved Darlene dearly and missed her greatly after her passing in 2022.

He leaves behind his children, Kyle (Katie) Decker, Darcy (Jeffery) Ester, and Kristi (Josh) Trumble, as well as 10 grandchildren, whom enjoyed laughing at all his jokes & called him "Papa Deck". He is also survived by his brothers, Allen (Kathy), James (Terri), Steven (Jackie), and Brian (Jennifer).

Preceding him in death were his wife, Darlene; his parents, Orville and Virginia Decker; his grandparents, George (Clara) Varney and Zeno (Evelyn) Decker; his sister-in-law, Jennie; his father-in-law, George Euler; his sister-in-law, Linda Behe; his brother-in-law, Greg Walters; and many aunts and uncles.

Service Details

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Koops Funeral Chapel. Service & interment will take place directly after at Lakeside Cemetery.
