Donna Lee Beyer

Donna passed on July 21, 2025 at age 89 and is now peacefully resting next to her husband, Eugene. She leaves behind four children – daughter Sheryl (Jerry) Welsh and sons Ken (Elizabeth), Jim (Julie), and Dean (Lori) Beyer along with eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and her precious Chihuahua, Suzie. Donna was born in Iowa, grew up in Colorado, married & spent her adult life in Michigan, and was a snowbird in Arizona for the last 30+ years. She was a secretary in the Michigan Legislature then used her numbers acumen while working for various State of Michigan agencies.

Having a restless soul, there was nothing she loved more than to drive along the back roads of America. She and Eugene once returned from Arizona via Alaska – no direct route for them. Besides travelling, Donna’s passions included cross stitch & beading, financial investing, Bridge, Bingo, Japanese Mahjong and stating her opinion on any number of issues (especially politics).

Many thanks to the Zion Lutheran Church congregation who offered wonderful friendships and fellowship over the years of her membership. The family is also very appreciative of the Woodlawn Meadows staff who gave their love, friendship and tremendous care to both Donna and Gene, as well as to our family, over the last years of their lives. Hastings is a wonderful community providing support to its elderly in so many ways.
