Elwyn “Dutch” Raffler, 89, of Woodland beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather entered into his heavenly home on July 29, 2021. Dutch was born on January 25, 1932 to Vernice and Lucille (Johnson) Raffler in Woodland, MI. He was a charter member of the Faith Bible Baptist Church and proudly served in the U.S Army. Dutch always looked for opportunities to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with others. Along with farming with his wife Jean Ann, Dutch worked for many years at E.W. Bliss company in Hastings. Dutch loved to treat people at DQ and Good Time Pizza. The family will remember his competitiveness when playing games with them or collecting various things. Watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports along with U of M were favorites of his.
Dutch will be dearly missed by his loving children: Debbie (James) Morrison, Julie (Gerald) Stahl, Diane (Jeff) Slocum, Cheryl and JoEllen, grandchildren; Josh (Chelsey), Angela, Lexie (Justin), Jeremy (Casey), Matt (Alissa), Stephanie (Brian), Dustin (Angie), Stacy (Ben), Danielle and Caleb, great-grandchildren; Tristan, Aiden, Rylie, Alex, Bradley, Greyson, Colton, Dylan, John, Evan, Lincoln, Kinsley, Shelby, Whitney, Keagen, Maye and Rian, siblings; Richard, Marguerite, Darwin (Jan) and Marvin (Sue), in-laws Wayne (Shirley) Decker, Marcia, Beverly along with many nieces, nephews, church family and neighbors.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jean Ann, parents, son Michael, siblings Arthur, Vernon, Larry, Arnold and Donald.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Faith Bible Baptist Church starting at 11am. The family will receive family and friends from 9am until time of service. Burial will take place immediately following at Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Faith Bible Baptist Missions or Spectrum Health Pennock Cancer Center.
