Iris was my Great Aunt. How appropriate that is. She had a great personality, attitude and love of life. She would see 2 ft. of snow as "beautiful scenery" not a "frozen mess"! The longtime teacher even taught me that a kind word and friendly gesture would last longer than just a moment. My husband & I met our Great-Aunt Iris for the 1st (and what was to be our only) time with our Dad and Aunt Linda who were her nephew & niece. Iris is such a great lady ~ You know the kind of person who brings a smile to your face whenever you think of her. I met Iris Tasker through my good friend, and her niece, Noreen Tanner. I thank Noreen for introducing me to Iris. She was a joy and an inspiration. What wonderful memories I have of the many times Noreen and I would meet Iris and her friends for lunch in Fowlerville. Iris was a lovely and very special lady. She lit up a room when she walked in with her  warm and beautiful smile, and will light up Heaven as well. You will be missed by your family and many, many friends. What a grand lady she was.  I was her student and a Tasker and still called her Mrs Tasker.  Remember her class so well...her ballbat, ugly pills and rulers. I don't think she ever forgot one of her students.  The "time tables" was her greatest moments in teaching. Mrs. Tasker (I could never get used to calling her Iris) was one of the classiest, most gracious ladies I have ever known. My condolences to Mrs. Tasker's family.  I was also a former student and remember well the ugly pills, the ball bat, and I also seem to remember a bowling pin? The most memorable thing for me was the reading time in the morning before class started.  We reconnected at my place of work, Secretary of State, and I enjoyed our visits very much.  She came in to renew her drivers license last year and was very proud of having reached the age of 95 years. She didn't look a day over 70! She was a very beautiful person inside and out. My Dear Iris, you were the Aunt that was more like a Mom than an Aunt to me. I remember the times that we would go and have lunch at CNR and Penny's Pizza (where Malcolm's pharmacy was)she loved to look at the black-white checked tile floor. We were really close and I will miss that so much. One thing that made me laugh, is that we would always run into students of hers so when I met one that wasn't I would shake their hand and tell them they missed the best one. I remember all the times Iris' cousins and I would meet at the bakery. And thank you to Ada and Harold who we all had fun with playing some dice game...and all of her church friends,I just don't know what else to say except my Iris, my Iris, my Iris I am going to miss you with all my heart..I love you so much words can't say. Iris was so fond of Hank, and Hank so fond of Iris. Hopefully they have met up with each other. To the best Aunt, I will never forget you...Your loving niece Norene.
