Janis Kay Kidder

Janis Kay Kidder, 74, passed away on September 1, 2026. Born September 25, 1951, in Hastings, MI, Janis was the daughter of Roger and Wilma Tasker. A 1969 graduate of Lakewood High School, she lived a life of steady devotion to family and community, remembered with deep respect and enduring affection. Her humor brought joy and light to everyone around her.

Janis worked for many years at Union Bank as a Proof Operator, a role that reflected the reliability and loyalty she brought to all she did. Those who knew her best will remember not only her steadfast presence, but also the quiet generosity and kind-hearted spirit she shared so freely—often placing the needs of others before her own.

In retirement, Janis found joy in the simple, beautiful details of everyday life. She loved diamond art and coloring with gel pens, and she especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren—Izzy, Henry, Jaxson, and Jeremiah—who brought her immense pride and happiness. Staying in touch with her sisters daily with many hours of great conversation, brought her joy.

Janis will be forever cherished by her children Chad (Tina) Kidder, Jeremy Kidder, and Loralee (Jeff) Bourgeois; her grandchildren Izzy, Henry, Jaxson, and Jeremiah; and her siblings Sandra Wells, Susie Tasker, Joyce (Brent) Bowden, Kande (Steve) Darcangelo, Ken Tasker, and Cathy (Mark) Kimber, along with many nieces and nephews. To her nieces and nephews, she was lovingly known as Aunt Pickle, a name that spoke to the warmth and closeness she fostered within her family.

Janis was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Wilma Tasker. Her legacy of selfless care, loyalty, and gentle kindness will remain a guiding memory for all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held at Living Gospel Church, 1600 Rochester St., Lake Odessa, MI 48849, on September 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. A Funeral Service will follow at Living Gospel Church on September 5, 2026, beginning at 12:00 pm. Final resting will be at Lakeside Cemetery, 14631 Cemetery Rd, Lake Odessa.
