Joanne Colleen Emery

JoAnne Colleen (McVay) Emery passed away on 2/7/2025 in St. Cloud, Florida. She was born 06/21/1944 in Seattle, Washington to Howard W. and Marian A. (Scheidt) McVay. JoAnne attended Lake Odessa High School in Lake Odessa, Michigan, graduating in 1962. On June 27, 1964 she married Wesley

W. Emery of Nashville, MI.

They lived in Hastings, Michigan, where they had three children. She enjoyed her delivery route of the Hastings Reminder, Jazzercise, and music, especially Bob Seger. They moved to Florida in 1984, where she worked in school cafeterias. She was an avid cat lover, and a punctual card sender with descriptive letters.

JoAnne is survived by: her son Bradley Neil Emery of Pensacola FL; daughter Lisa Lynne Emery Corbett of Saint Cloud FL; granddaughter Alexis Corbett; sister Cathy Roush of Charlotte M; sister Lois Downing of Howell MI; brother Wesley (Gail) McVay of N.Charleston SC; several nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends in both Michigan and Florida.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wes, parents Howard and Marion McVay, infant son Kenneth Michael, brothers-in-law David Downing and Bob Roush.

Burial arrangements at Lakeside Cemetery are being made by Koops Funeral Home, Lake Odessa. Per request, no services will be held. Those who wish, may donate to the Humane Society in honor of JoAnne, or any organization that cares for cats.
