Joyce Elaine Waite

Mrs. Joyce Elaine Waite, age 92 went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Joyce was born June 8th, 1933, the daughter of Lloyd and Alice (Shupp) Haskins. She grew up in Lake Odessa and was graduate of LOHS Class of 1951. Joyce was a graduate of Lansing Business University and was employed by the Lake Odessa Canning Company, Michigan Brass Company and in the Water Department of the City of Grand Rapids. Joyce was married to Richard V. Waite on June 19, 1955. Joyce and Richard lived in the rural Alto area for many years moving back to Lake Odessa in 2015. She loved her family and enjoyed embroidering, garage sales, playing cards and word search puzzle. She was a long time member of Lakewood United Methodist Church and recently The Crossing Church of Lake Odessa. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband and parents; siblings: Willard E. Haskins, Gerald J. Haskins and Mary Jean French. She is survived by sons; John R. (Cindy) Waite and James D. (Colleen) Waite; grandchildren Tabitha Yuhas, Michael-John (Ashley) Waite, Corey (Heather) Waite and Daniel Waite; great grandchildren, Avalon, Josiah, Charlotte and Lincoln; nieces and nephews.

A memorial visitation for Joyce will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave, Lake Odessa, Michigan 48849. A graveside services will occur Monday, June 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Lakeside Cemetery, 14631 Cemetery Rd, Lake Odessa, MI 48849.
