Kelly Blakely

For more than 40 years, Kelly built a steady and admirable career as a sales representative for Nabisco Foods. Through decades of dedicated work, he earned the respect of those who knew him—approaching each day with reliability, good humor, and the kind of down-to-earth determination that quietly leaves a lasting mark.

Kelly was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his children, Jessica Blakely, Joshua Blakely, and Jacob Blakely; and by his grandchildren, Olivia and Remy. He is also survived by his siblings, Randall Blakely, Jayne Blakely, and Carol (Mark) Gates, along with many niece and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Joy Blakely; his brother, Bruce Blakely; his sister, Gay Blakely-Thelen; and his sister in law, Shirley Blakely.

A natural companion to many, Kelly carried an open hearted ease that made others feel immediately welcome—someone for whom friendship was never in short supply, because he treated people as though they already belonged. That warmth, paired with a spirited sense of fun and a readiness for the next outing, shaped the way he moved through the world and the way he will be remembered.

Kelly loved sports of any kind, and golf was his lifelong passion. He especially cherished the many years of guys trips to Myrtle Beach to play—time marked by camaraderie, laughter, and the simple joy of being out on the course. He also loved music, especially the Beatles, and was a collector of chime clocks, a reflection of the delight he found in the rhythms and memories that music can hold.

A Memorial gathering will be held on August 21, 2026 at Koops Funeral Chapel from 12 noon until service at 1pm.

Donations in Kelly's name can be given Lakewood Athletics Association.
