Larry Davis

Born on August 29, 1944, to Nelson and Barbara Davis, Larry lived a life marked by simple pleasures and a profound connection to the outdoors. He was happiest when spending time near the water, finding stillness and comfort in lake life. Whether sitting on the dock, fishing, or enjoying early mornings by the shore with a good cup of coffee, the lake was a constant sanctuary throughout his years.

A man of steadfast faith, Larry walked closely with Jesus and drew daily strength from his beliefs. His compassion extended naturally to God’s creatures—he held a lifelong love for all animals and took great joy in caring for and spending time alongside his animal companions.

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Newman (Davis), and her husband, John Newman; his grandchildren, Katherine (Michael), Jacob, and Jackson; and his great-grandson, Logan James. Along with his dear companion Marjean Hines.

A service honoring his memory will be held on August 22, 2026, at 11am until 11:45am, at Koops Funeral Home, 935 4th Ave, Lake Odessa, MI 48849.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Barry County Humane Society.
