Lee A. McDiarmid, 75, of Lake Odessa passed away on May 4, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family after fighting a long battle with kidney failure and a short bout with cancer. Lee was born on May 9, 1945 in Lake Odessa to Voight and Marguerite (Green) McDiarmid. On October 3, 1964 he married the love of his life Frances Smith and spent 56 years together. Lee was a proud graduate of Lake Odessa High School class of 1963. He retired as a Team Leader from GM in 1994. For many years he was the go to guy to fix diesels for friends and family. Lee was a very outdoors kinda of guy, loved to watch things grow whether plant or animal. Lee’s sense of humor and quick wit will be dearly missed. He will be missed by: wife Frances, children Julie (Zigmond Clark) McDiarmid, Dave (Laurie) McDiarmid and Gail (Geroma Green Jr.) McDiarmid, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way, 4 sisters and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Lee in death are his parents, both in-laws, 1 sister and 1 nephew. According to his wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time, but his life will be celebrated at a later date. Memorials can be made in Lee’s name to the American Kidney Foundation, Sunfield or Lake Odessa Fire Department.

Fran & family,
We are all so sorry for the loss of Lee. He was well loved by all of us here and leaves a hole behind. We will all miss his jokes, smile, and all around personality.

Lee was an amazing man and friend! It was great to have him as a neighbor! Always willing to help in anyway he possibly could! Definitely will be missed. Praying for all the family.

used to go camping with Lee and Fran (Mom & Dad) & Julie, Dad always made the time with them fun, we would have camp fires, always would add color to the fire and would say that he put Kool-aide in the garden hose and throw it in the fire.. Guess what dad I finally figured out that you had copper pipe in side that garden hose.
I know I haven't see you all in a while but have always kept you in my heart and thoughts. Sorrow with the eagles dad and see you again some day and we can catch up.. Hugs love ya, Jenn
