

Lola was born in Hastings and grew up on the family farm in Sunfield before moving to Grass Lake in high school where she met her high school sweetheart, David. David and Lola married on June 17, 1961, and had 58 wonderful years together until Dave’s passing in 2019.
Lola worked in human resources throughout her life while raising a family. Lola loved to garden and read in her spare time. Lola loved all animals, but especially her dogs, Windy, Mia, and Jazmine, who preceded her in death.
She leaves behind her children: sons David (Monica) Dakin II, Wade (Patti) Dakin; daughter, Valeria (Dennis) Dakin; special daughter, Rebecca (Tracy) Main-Cone; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Kendall (Nancy) Cook and Keith Cook; many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, David Dakin; parents Gaylord and Grace Cook; sister, Lavon Bliesener; and granddaughter, Jalae Nicole Dakin.
A memorial service for Lola will be held 2 p.m. Saturday April 11, 2026 at Koops Funeral Chapel, 935 4th Ave., Lake Odessa, with a time to visit with family from 1 p.m. until time of the services.
