Margot J. (Goodemoot) Bailey, age 87, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025. Margot was born on February 12th, 1937 in Portland, MI to Francis and Ethel (Turner) Goodemoot. On January 18, 1957 she married Don Bailey. She worked for many years in the Ionia School Systems as a teacher and later as a substitute. Margot was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa where she sang for many years as well as belonging to the Lakewood Area Choral Society. She was a dedicated mother to her children and loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
Margot will be lovingly remembered her children Doug (Cheryl) Bailey, Sally (Michael) Stout and Brent (Terry) Bailey, grandchildren John (Kathy) Bowling, Brooke Stout, Andrew Stout, Kristal Schaefer,Sarah Schaefer, Christopher Schaefer, Mark Schaefer, Sasha (Omal) Ahmed, Tom (Racheal) Teitsma, Bradley Teitsma, Christopher Teitsma, and Gabriel Bailey, many great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, siblings Carole Reiser, Russ (Mo) Goodemoot, and Ronn Goodemoot, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don Bailey, grand daughter Amanda Bowling, siblings Fran Morris and Dennis Goodemoot.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025 at Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI from 11am until time of funeral at 12 noon. Burial will take place immediately following in Lakeside Cemetery next to Don.
