Marie Deardorff

Marie A. Deardorff, age 86, passed away on March 13, 2014. She was born in Lake Odessa on August 14, 1927, to Roy and Ruth (Winey) McRoberts. She graduated from Caledonia High School in 1945. She married her husband of 65 years, K. Duane Deardorff, on December 19, 1948. Marie was a secretary at Lakewood Public Schools for 23 years. She was an active member of the Hope Church of the Brethren, enjoyed quilting, cooking, and volunteer work. She is survived by her husband, K. Duane Deardorff; her children, Jan (Ross) Livingston, Kim (Dawn) Deardorff, and Dawne (Bill) Vowler; siblings, Daniel McRoberts, Jean (Keith) Bergy; sisters-in-law, Betty McRoberts, Geneva McRoberts, and Waiva Lehman; grandchildren Heidi (Drew) Davis, Jason (Samantha) Livingston, Tony (Jodi) Deardorff, Drew Deardorff, Kyle Deardorff, Faith Vowler and Rose Vowler; four great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ruth (Winey) McRoberts; siblings Howard McRoberts, Olive Collier, Roy McRoberts, Jr.; brother-in-law Don Collier; and sister-in-law Vera McRoberts.
