Maureen F. Scobey, age 67, of Hastings formerly of Lake Odessa, MI passed unexpectedly at her home. Maureen was born on October 24, 1948 in Lake Odessa to Kenneth and Geraldine (Compton) Moltmaker. After she graduated in 1966 from Lakewood High School, Maureen worked at Michigan Bell in Lansing for several years then working for JC Penny and Felpausch in Hastings. Maureen loved animals especially her cats Angel, Princess and Sparkles. She leaves behind parents Kenneth and Geraldine Moltmaker, siblings Michele Strom, Melodie (John) Rohlman, Monica (Jim) Potter, Mark Moltmaker and Michael Moltmaker, along with many nieces and nephews. Maureen was preceded in death by baby brother Michael Joe Moltmaker and her grandparents. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 11am until 12:45pm. A graveside service is planned for Friday, October 30, 2015 at Lakeside Cemetery at 1pm. In lieu of flowers donations to Barry County Animal Shelter, 540 N. Industrial Park Dr. Hastings, MI 49058 would be appreciated.
