In the early minutes of Sunday, June 7, 2026, Patricia P. Reser, 88, of Clarksville, Michigan, peacefully breathed her last earthly breath and was ushered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for eternity.
Born September 2, 1937, to Perry J. and Ruth Violet (Gillette) Womboldt, Pat was the middle of seven children. She grew up in Muir, Michigan, and graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1956. On August 10, 1957, she married Franklin Reser in Muir. They shared nearly 64 years of marriage until Frank's passing in 2021. Pat and Frank spent their entire married life in Clarksville, living in the same home since 1964, where they raised their six children.
Wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, public servant and volunteer are just a few of her cherished titles. Anyone who knew her knew of her spark for life and her zesty disposition. Pat was an ever-present figure in the Clarksville community, serving in many capacities for more than six decades. She leaves a profound legacy and imprint not only on her family but on the entire Clarksville community, and she will be deeply missed.
Pat assisted in scouting activities alongside Frank, baked cakes for the annual Clarksville Elementary School Carnival cake walk, served on the local election board, and was a member of the Clarksville Fire Department Auxiliary. She was an active member of Clarksville Bible Church, and in later years, South Boston Bible Church. Pat was also involved with the Clarksville Friends of the Library, was a cofounding member of the Community Crisis Fund and served for over 40 years on the Clarksville Ox Roast Committee, beginning with the Clarksville Centennial Celebration in 1975.
As her children grew, Pat dabbled in cake decorating, sold Tupperware, and assisted Frank with their residential HVAC business by running parts, managing the bookkeeping, and even performing minor furnace repairs when necessary. An entire generation of Clarksville children grew up with Pat as their school bus driver; she retired with more than 25 years if service driving a Clarksville Elementary route for Lakewood Public Schools. In more recent years, she served for 20 years as a member of the Clarksville Village Council, spending many of those years as the Street Commissioner.
Pat enjoyed cake decorating, canning, card making, crocheting, knitting and a variety of other arts and crafts. She loved to play Canasta, Yahtzee, and Euchre. Over the past several years, Yahtzee was a mainstay with her children, friends, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and she continued playing until about six months ago.
Pat maintained a large garden for many years with the assistance of Frank, their children, and eventually her grandchildren. She was adept at processing deer and making highly sought-after venison jerky, cooking turtle soup if Frank happened upon one, and was the reigning Reser Family Reunion hatchet-throwing competition. Christmas Cookie Day was a 30+ year tradition of making pressed and frosted cut-out sugar cookies alongside her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; her grandson, John Reser; her parents; her parents-in-law; and several siblings.
She is survived by her six children: Terry (Terri) of Portland; Deanna (Doug) Kinsman of Lewisburg, TN; Elizabeth Annette of Remus; Brian (Alice) of Clarksville; David (Dawn) of Lake Odessa; Forrest Daniel of Clarksville; 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great granddaughters. She is also survived by her brother, Jerry Womboldt Sr. of Muir; her sisters -in-law, Wilma Running (106) of Battle Creek and Patricia Kay Reser of Lake Odessa; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral services will be held. A Celebration of Life Open House in Pat's honor will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm at the Reser Home, 150 West High Street, Clarksville, MI. The family welcomes anyone who knew Pat, Frank, or their immediate family members to join them for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and remembrance.
A Facebook page entitled "Patricia (Womboldt) Reser: A Life Well-Lived" has been created to share memories, photos, and condolences. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksville Ox Roast and mailed to David Reser, 238 E. Bippley Rd., Lake Odessa, MI 48849.
