Phyllis Jean Fetterman, born on July 6, 1940, in Lake Odessa, Michigan, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 3, 2025, at the age of 84, after a courageous journey with Alzheimer’s disease.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her mother, Laura Walkington; her father, Harold Walkington; her sister, Laurine Henry; and her brother, Arnold Walkington. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Sherlyn Fetterman; her children, Kathy (Mark) Tomandl, Chuck (Candace) Fetterman, and Matthew (Alicia) Fetterman; her grandchildren, Alexis (Drew) Rayner, Alli Fetterman, Ryan Hoort, Zach Ward, Mikayla (Preston) Schuller, Benett (Rachel) Tomandl, Nolan Tomandl, David Fetterman, Isaac (Brittney) Fetterman, Levi Fetterman, Barret Johnson, and Nevin Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Walker Oesch and Elizabeth Johnson—as well as countless others who were blessed to know her.
Phyllis will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit and her unwavering love for Jesus. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life and served as a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her. Through her words and actions, she exemplified grace and compassion.
Visitation will be held at Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa on Thursday, January 9, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship with the family will follow at The Hughe House.
