Robert Lee Cobb Jr. LAKE ODESSA, MI – Robert Lee Cobb Jr., age 70, of Lake Odessa passed peacefully early Easter morning, Sunday, March 31, 2012+1. Bob was born the youngest son to Laura Louise (Sible) and Robert Lee Cobb Sr. on April 26, 1942 in Hastings, Michigan. Siblings include sisters Ruth Jean (Bernie) Edgel, Donna Leona (Larry) Swarthout, and brothers, Ronald (Colleen) Cobb, and Lawrence (Sara) Cobb. Bob met the love of his life, Lynda Gayle Chorley, when he was eleven years old. They were married on May 12, 1962 and since that time could often be quoted as saying that he was married to "the prettiest girl in town." Bob had a natural gift for numbers and an innate entrepreneurial spirit. His business history includes farming, used car sales, real estate, restaurant ownership and management, and others, but is remembered by most for his ownership and operation of two local convenience stores known as "Cobb's Corner." Most recently Bob has served as Odessa Township Supervisor over the past 12 years. Other contributions include his membership and involvement in countless community organizations. Bob is remembered by his grandchildren as one of the most involved of all grandparents. He attended many birthday parties, softball, baseball, football, and basketball games, band concerts, choir concerts, and walked a granddaughter down the wedding aisle. His children remember him as hard working, patient, understanding and kind. Bob was a wise advisor, a great listener, and a best friend who never hesitated to lend a hand. He valued the time we spent with him and had a unique relationship with every friend and loved one. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Lynda of 50 years, and their four children, Brynda Kaye (Kevin) Merryfield, Robert Lee (Rachel) Cobb III, William John (Lydia) Cobb, and Laura Loraine Cobb; eleven grandchildren, Elaina (Nick) Ludema, Jessica (Jason) Mays, Robert Lee Cobb IV, Kenneth Blake, Chase, Elizabeth, and Seth Cobb, Marisela, Nina, Isabela, and Alejandro Martinez; seven great-grandchildren, Cavin, Levi, Brynlee, and Mara Ludema, Brooke, Braydon, and Olivia Mays. Bob also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and family friends. Preceding him in death were his parents and dear sister, Jeannie.
