Roger L. Daniels

Roger L. Daniels, age 76, of Lake Odessa, passed away on June 16, 2010 at his residence. Roger was born in Lake Odessa on March 8, 1934 to Laverne, Sr. and Dortha Daniels. Roger attended Lake Odessa Schools and graduated in 1952. He was an All-Star athlete in football, basketball, track and baseball, and was recognized for his contributions to the school as a Student-Athlete. Roger served his country in the United States Army from 1954-1956. Roger is survived by his only child, Megan Daniels of Waterford, MI; former wife, Denise Straley of Hastings; niece, Juanita (Daniels) Kosters of Grandville; nephew, Rob Daniels of San Francisco, CA; great-niece, Vicki Makley of Grand Rapids; cousins, Judy (Jackson) Laidler of Holland, MI, and Burwayne Jackson of Fallbrook, CA; and his special animal friend, Sparky. Preceding Roger in death, were his parents; brother, Laverne Daniels, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Etheleen Daniels. A Memorial Gathering will be held to celebrate Roger's life. The Memorial Gathering will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the large pavilion at Charlton Park, located at 2545 S. Charlton Park Rd., Hastings, MI 49058. www.charltonpark.org.
