Rosemarie (Mueller) Doane, 85, of Lake Odessa passed away on December 6, 2020 at Green Acres of Ionia. Rosemarie was born on October 21, 1935 in Krumbach Germany to Karl and Anna Babetta (Mai) Mueller. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her husband Richard after 56 wonderful years of marriage, Sisters Ilse D’Aloya and Ingrid Mueller, and a brother Gerhard Mueller. She is survived by her children Kerry Stensen of Grand Ledge; son Mark (Kimberley) Doane of Lake Odessa; grandchildren Andrew, Mackenzie and Cameron Doane, Lauren, Taylor and Nicole Stensen; brother in law Vincenzo D’Aloya: sisters in law Jackie (Dennis) Bailey and Siglinde Mueller; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosemarie’s life was full of adventure and a courageous spirit. Meeting the love of her life in 1959 in Munich, Germany she married Richard and began her new life in America. Leaving Germany at the age of 24 required an inner strength that was with her for her entire life. Anyone who met her immediately new that nothing could prevent her from enjoying life to the fullest. The leader of the pack, the first in line, the attitude that “I can do anything if I put mind to it” and “Sometimes forgiveness is better than permission”, was her life motto. Her fun-loving spirit was contagious to everyone she met.
Traveling to Europe to visit family, spending winters in Arizona and summers in Grand Haven were some of her cherished memories. Grandchildren were the light of her life and she rarely missed any of their sporting events. She will be dearly missed by many and remembered by all.
Private visitation for Rosemarie Doane will be at 11:00 am, Thursday December 10, 2020 with services beginning at 11:30 at the Koops Funeral Chapel.
