Russell Walter Allerding, age 61, of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021. Russell was born December 14, 1959 to Walter and Eva Lucille Allerding in Hastings, MI. Russ was a graduate of Lakewood High School class of 1978. In 1985 he married Marlyna Smith and enjoyed 36 years together dune bugging and camping with friends and family.
Russ worked at Signs Tire in Hastings doing alignments and exhausts until he opened his own business, Russ' County Line Garage. Where he worked on cars and tractors until retiring in 2003.
He very much loved his kids, grandkids, hunting (especially muzzle loading whether he got one or not), westerns, being outside, feeding the birds, fishing, and any excuse for his family to be by his side. Besides the birth of his children, one of his proudest moments was when he signed the papers to own the family farm.
He was absolutely the BEST dad. He taught his kids and grandkids how to hunt, bait a hook out on Lawhead, shoot a gun, play UNO, build the best bonfire, and make sure we knew just how much we were loved.
He will be dearly missed by; wife Marlyna, children Darcel, Clay, Terry, and stepdaughters Oletta & Lynnette, 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, brother Steve (Tammy) Allerding, sister Susan Allerding, and his beloved dog Eddy, who was always by his side.
Russ was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on his birthday; December 14, 2021 at Koops Funeral Chapel from 5pm until 8pm.
Please share your memories of him at www.koopsfc.com for the Allerding family.
