Thomas E Pickens

He was born on January 20, 1943 to Clare and Vinton (Vis) Pickens in Grand Rapids, MI. He was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School and Central Michigan University. Tom worked as a Transportation Planner for State of MI for 37 years. On October 12, 1963 he married Phyllis Rose.  Tom was a registered Official in many sports, but had a special love for high school football receiving a 30 year plaque from the MHSAA.  He was dedicated member of the Lake Odessa Historical Society, and was instrumental in getting the Lake Odessa Depot moved to its present position.

Tom is survived by his loving spouse of 52 years Phyllis, three sons, Brian Pickens, Craig Pickens, Darren Pickens, brother, Timothy (Mary Ellen) Pickens; two sisters, Joy(James) Adams, Jill (Greg) Lieto; Four Grandchildren, Zachary Pickens, Taylor Pickens, Jacob Pickens, Carter Pickens; Great-Grandchild, Milli-Ann Pickens.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clare C Pickens, mother, Vinton V. Pickens and step mother Marie Pickens,

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Koops Funeral Chapel, Inc., Lake Odessa, MI.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, 11:00 am at the Koops Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, MI, with Pastor John Waite officiating.

Burial will take place in the Clarksville Cemetery.
