Dear Sarah/Sally (to me) and family, I want to send you my most heartfelt and deepest sympathies in the lost of your husband, father, grandfather & friend. I have so many great memories of Wendell and the 'gentle'man that he was.  I'm so sorry that I could not be at the funeral or visitation but please know that I have been thinking of you & praying for you every day.  He was a member of my oldest sister's class & always treated me with respect - something that a lot of the boys of that generation did not. When he came into the store, he always had time to 'sit & chat' for awhile. He was always our best "Sunday morning newspaper" customer - not always getting them on Sunday but always by the end of the week, he would pick up all 5 of them!  I have always found these two sayings comforting and would like to share them with you:  'When the sunshine of God's love meets the showers of our sorrow, the Rainbow of Promise appears'. AND  'Death does not extinguish the light. Rather, it puts out the Lamp, because the Dawn has come.'  Hang on to your memories - - even though Wendell is gone, no one can take away your memories! We count it a privilege to have known Wendell for the last 23 years. It's been a pleasure to do business with him and to get to know him as a friend. We appreciate his wisdom and love for his family, friends and work. We have learned from his experience. I did not hear of Wendals passing until today and regret not knowing in time to come pay my respect to a great man.  He was an interesting guy and reminded me of Grizzly Adams.  I don't know of anyone who didn't like him.  My fond memories with him include: 4H hunter safety class as a young boy in his "office" where he showed me about reloading ammo and shared his great wisdom about guns and hunting.  I also remember all his fishing stories and tips as I grew older.  I suspect he is now fishing in a better place with Fuzz Leak. Dear all of you,  I mourn with you but I also joy with you that we have all known Wendell (Daddy) who opened new aspects of life to me when he and his family opened their home to me in 1969.  I shall never forget one of his first remarks to me: So how do you like America on my second day of being there! I didn't have a proper answer then and there. I got to like America and the Studt-family very much.  Daddy cared for his family and was willing to do hard working at long and odd times to support it - he also loved the masculine sports - hunting, fishing, football - loved what nature had to offer and now he has returned to it. He may seem a tough guy but was also a caring person to all who was dear to him - and many were.   Much love and thanks for letting me be part of the "Studt-gang".
