Anna Beverly Ball

Anna BEVERLY Ball (Kemp) passed away peacefully at the golden age of 94 years old on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Beverly is survived by her sons, Michael and David Ingleright (Nancy), her daughter Michele Ball-Vaughn, daughter-in-law Georgeann Woelper, and her “other daughter” Lisa May Klein (Jeff); Stepdaughters Earlene Hall and Peggy Noe; Grandsons Justin Ingleright and Joshua Vaughn; Granddaughter Casey Ingleright Bishop; Great granddaughters, Aurora and Stella Bishop; Her “other grandchildren” Megan, Piper and Cooper Klein, Tricia, Paula, Rob, Missy, Mike, Crystal, Morgan, and Jessica; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her long-time partner Woodrow (Woody) Easton; Her parents, Walter and Gertrude Kemp; Her 6 siblings, Gordon Kemp, Eleanor Schuch, Walter Kemp, Audrey Hopper, Eugene Kemp, and Nancy Senda; and her grandson Andrew Ingleright.

Beverly was born in Berwick, Pennsylvania on April 23, 1924. After moving to Florida with her sons, Beverly worked at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach. She later worked for the Palm Beach County School Board, serving her time at North Grade Elementary School in Lake Worth and Rolling Green Elementary School in Boynton Beach, before retiring after nearly 20 years. She loved working with the children and made countless, lifelong friends with her coworkers.

Beverly played an integral part in raising both of her grandsons, Justin and Joshua. Without her constant love, endless time, and dedicated support, Michele and Georgeann would have struggled immensely as single mothers raising their sons on their own. She helped to mold her grandsons into the loving, strong men that they are today.

Beverly loved her family. She carried pictures of her grandchildren Aurora, Stella, Cooper, and Piper in her purse and showed them daily to anyone and everyone that would take the time to look with her and admire them. Another one of her prized possessions was a family photo taken at a University of Florida football game (GO GATORS!). She loved showing off her family photos to all of the fellow residents and staff members that took great care of her at The Crossings Nursing Home in Lake Worth where she lived for many years until her passing. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at The Crossings for loving and doting over Beverly for so many years. We appreciate all of the fond memories that each staff member shared of Beverly. We take comfort in knowing that she was sang to, hugged, and loved each day she resided there by people who treated her like family.

The family would also like to thank Vitas (hospice) for their constant care of Beverly in her final days. You made a difficult situation easier. We took comfort in knowing she was never alone.

Beverly will always be remembered for her love of football. She especially loved the Miami Dolphins and the Florida Gators. Sunday afternoons were spent watching endless hours of football on TV all day long. Later in life, she traveled with her family to see many games that became an annual tradition. The last football game she attended was this past September, at the age of 94, where she attended the University of Central Florida to see the UCF Knights play. She was like a little kid watching the game while gobbling up cotton candy, popcorn, and hot dogs. It will be a memory that we will cherish for a lifetime.

She always enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was deeply missed for our family Christmas Eve gathering this year. It wasn’t the same without her.

Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 29th at Dorsey Funeral Home at 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. Private family viewing at 1:30pm and visitation at 2:00pm. The service will start at 3:00pm with refreshments to follow at the chapel reception hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be sent directly to Rolling Green Elementary School, ATTN: Principal Allyson Manning, 550 Miner Road, Boynton Beach, FL 33435, with ‘library donation/Beverly Ball’ in the memo section, so her love of literacy for children can carry on.
