Beatrice Jewell

89, of Lake Worth, Florida, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013. Bea was born in Taylorsville, North Carolina on May 2, 1924 to Rev. Robert L. Lail and Florence Coyner Lail. She had an older sister and younger brother, Ernestine and Bob, both deceased. Bea entered the nursing profession in 1942 and worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach, Florida for several years. She married Leelan Charles Jewell in 1948 and had four children. In 1983, Chuck preceded her in death. Beatrice was a dedicated member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Lake Worth. She sang in the choir for over fifty years, played the church organ and was overall very active in her church.

Survivors include her daughters, Janice DeFreese and Teresa Turner; sons, Charles Jewell and Kenneth Jewell; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The Jewell family will receive their friends from 5 PM until 7 PM on Friday, October 11th at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 12th also at the funeral home. Mrs. Jewell will be laid to rest following her funeral service at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
