Bernard proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy and retired after 30 years of service. Then they moved to Florida and he started his career in sales at a lumberyard.
Bernard enjoyed wood working, crafts, fishing, and spending time with his family and dear friends, Anthony and Ruth Ann Hammer, Leon Eddy and Joyce Sarrasin.
Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Helen M. Scott.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra Boutet (Jeff); granddaughter, Bonny Shade (Chris); step grandson, Matthew Boutet (Amy); step great-grandchildren, Zane, Julia and Cora Boutet.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 31, from 12:00PM to 2:30PM, with a funeral service starting at 2:30PM, at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Rd, Lake Worth, FL 33461. Interment will follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
