Mayor Bettye James, 85, of Cloud Lake, FL, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2013. Bettye had lived a life full of joy, love, and great devotion to her family and her community. She is survived by her son, Francis Olivieri; her sisters, Janice Cantatore, Jaqueline Wilkensen, Hilda Graham, and Theta Duffy; her brother, Daryl Graham and her lifetime partner, Judie Tarlowe. Bettye also had ten nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, and too many friends and chosen family members to count. All are welcomed to a visitation on Friday, March 22 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and a Graveside service on Saturday, March 23 at 12:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home & Cemetery, 3041 Kirk Rd., Lake Worth, FL 33461. On Wednesday, March 27 a memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM at Bettye's church, The Metropolitan Community Church of the Palm Beaches, 4857 Northlake Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418. Donations in her memory may be made to Metropolitan Community Church of the Palm Beaches.
