Aunt Kathy had what some call an old soul. When we would visit she would make each of us feel welcome and special. 
When the cousins got together there could be a lot of children. Being kids we could make a lot of noise. 
Aunt Kathy would just give you a look as if to say she knew kids will be kids. 
She will be missed by all.

My (Great) Aunt Cathy was my grandfathers’ (Dick) sister and my mothers’ (Susan) God mother. I vaguely (because I was fairly young) remember swimming in the pool in thier backyard. Aunt Cathy and Uncle Bob were always so warm and welcoming to us all. Out of all of my grandfathers siblings we knew Aunt Cathy the most, she lived in Schenectady as did we. When they moved to Florida we had an open invitation to visit. I’ll remember her fondly and my sincerest condolences to uncle Bob, her children and Aunt Marie. 

My Aunt Cathy, who was also my godmother, has always been an important part of my life. As a child, I have great memories of spending time in the summer at Lake Luzerne  or camping or hanging out at the Monz house.  As a young woman, she was always there  for me with a listening ear and unconditional love. My Aunt Cathy took me to my first movie at Proctors Theater in downtown Schenectady. I still remember the name of the movie it was called  “The  Shaggy Dog”. After she and uncle Bob married I remember spending a sleep over at their new apartment. She curled my hair in pigtails. The thing that stands out the most and always willi is that my aunt Cathy loved me and always gave me everything that she had to give . She is with me every day in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with her family who she loved so dearly.

Im so very sorry for your loss.  I remember growing up in Schenectady and spending a lot of time at my Aunt Cathy and Uncle Bob's house playing with my cousins Karen, Buddy, Janet and Rich. It was a lively fun place to go and Aunt Cathy and I had many talks over the kitchen table.  I remember how sad I was when the family moved, person by person, to Florida. I think fondly of you all often as I still live practically within walking distance of that house.  Aunt Cathy loved her kids fiercely and they were always foremost in her mind. Aunt Cathy was the reason that Jane and I got together. Her and my sister-in-law somehow arranged for us to go with her and Uncle Buzzard and her dad, Uncle Bill, out partying on New Year's Eve of 1972. I had just gotten out of the Navy. Jane and I were married in August of 1974. Spent many summer weekends in the back yard pool where my kids would yell for Aunt Cathy and Uncle Buzzard. May she rest in peace. 

Mrs. Monz was such a beautiful, kind, sweet woman. I remember her always having a twinkle in her eyes, and sometimes a devious smile on her face…..especially when Karen took me to the house in NY and Mrs. Monz told me it was haunted. She was adorable!

My Auntie Cathy as I called her was actually my distant cousin through my fathers side of the Benson family. I have so many fond memories of growing up spending summers and Christmases with my Monz family in Schenectady and Florida. One memory that stands out to me as a kid was the first time she made me one of her “fluffernutter” sandwiches…it felt like I was having dessert for lunch and that we had this secret between us because I would never have been able to have lunch like that around my parents lol…what a treat! ☺️ My Auntie Cathy was a tough cookie with a heart of pure gold and I admired and looked up to her for the strong and confident person she was. I will miss her terribly but her spirit is strong and will live on in my heart always…With all my love, Rebecca❤️

Mr. Monz (a/k/a Papa Noel), Karen, Bud, Janet and Rich,

I am heartbroken to hear of Mrs. Monz's passing.  She was a lovely woman who always treated me with kindness and respect.  I have so many fond memories of the countless hours spent in your home, and I can't help but wonder where Cathy found her patience with us when I was there with Karen.  I thoughtfully remember one particular camping trip to the place where we could "see 3 states at one time" and those crazy striped pants Papa Noel wore. If I could turn back the hands of time, I would return to these days often.  

I have no doubt that Cathy has been received by the Lord and will remain forever at peace.  May God bless the Monz family in these difficult times and all the days of your lives.

No Christmas holiday was complete unless we went to Mr. And Mrs. Monz’s house for pigs in a blanket after midnight mass!  Caroling around the neighborhood with the whole gang singing along with the angelic sounds of the accordion (haha) was a blast!  Lots and lots of other wonderful memories…camping at Fourth Lake, and spring break in Myrtle Beach,  just to name a few.  

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this incredibly tough time.
