Craig dedicated 25 years to law enforcement, serving with the Lake Worth Police Department from 1969 to 1994 and retiring as Deputy Chief of Police. He was also a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session 118. Apparently retirement didn’t suit him too well, because he went on to spend another 15 years as Security Manager at The Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach.
Craig was proud, full of life, and always ready to make someone laugh. He loved golf, baseball, water skiing, spending time with his family, and anything involving the Western and cowboy lifestyle. He was also a loyal Miami Hurricanes fan, through the good seasons and the ones that tested that loyalty. Craig was extremely generous, fiercely devoted to his family and friends, and would do just about anything for the people he loved. He was also stubborn as a mule, a description he probably would have argued with.
Craig is survived by his wife, Kathy Richardson; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Chris Roberts; grandson, Jacob Roberts; granddaughter, Mallory Roberts; sister, Barbara Goodpaster; and brother, Doug Richardson. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kim Richardson.
A Celebration of Craig’s Life will be held on September 18, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Dorsey Funeral Home in Lake Worth, Florida.
