Debra A. Ozycz, 59 of Lake Worth passed away on Monday, April 16th after her sixteen month and ten-day courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Her husband and her daughter were by her side. She was the beloved wife of Daniel E. Ozycz, and they were married on November 15th, 1997. Last year Debra and Daniel celebrated their twentieth wedding anniversary. Born on July 16th, 1958 in Huntsville, Alabama, she was the daughter of Marion E. and Emilyann (Ratti) Collie. Debra’s father was in the U.S. Army. She spent her first eight years of life in Alabama, Okinawa, Michigan, New Mexico, and Hawaii. In July of 1966 her family moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and called this home. Debra graduated from Huron High School in 1976 and in 1978 she moved to Florida and received her cosmetology certificate. She was an independent business owner as a beautician for forty years in Palm Beach County serving multiple generations of families. When Debra was not spending time with her family or friends, she loved to partake in traveling, fine dining, entertaining, cooking, and baking. She always put others first, even after her diagnosis, and always had kind words to share and comforted others in need. She also had a love for animals, especially dogs and birds, and being a part of nature. The love of her life was her husband Dan, but her pride and joy was her beautiful daughter Alexandria who she would do anything for. The memories and the family she created will never be forgotten. In addition to her husband and her parents, Debra is survived by her wonderful daughter Alexandria L. Ozycz, brother Jimmy Collie, a sister, her mother-in-law Sylvia S. Ozycz, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Linda Ozycz, and her sister-in-law Andrea Maxim. She also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins, along with her dog Daisy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday April 23 at 10am at Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 10935 South Military Trail, Boynton Beach, FL 33463. Prior to mass, family and friends may gather at the church from 9:30am until mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery in Royal Palm Beach.
