Denise Marie King Syx, age 60, died on Monday, January 17, 2022. Denise was born September 8, 1961 in Lake Worth, and did not leave town very often except to visit her grandkids. She graduated from Lake Worth High School in 1979 and began a career in bookkeeping eventually running her own medical supply business Above All Medical Supply, Inc. She is survived by her longtime partner Scott Breeden; her son Jeremy, his wife Tiffany and their three children Anthony, Dominic, and Nicolas; her son Justin, his wife Jiedah and their three children Honey Nichole, John Jayren, and Jessa Joy; her sisters Kathleen, Eileen (Jim); her brothers Michael (Travys), Gary (Lori) and Dan (Cindy); many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and so many friends.
She spent much of the last decade taking care of her parents and was a thoughtful loving person who was always willing to help. Denise overcame many obstacles, including cancer, but in recent years her health declined and Covid was one enemy she didn't have the strength to fight.
Denise loved driving by the beach, any beach would do, but especially Lake Worth beach. It was a habit she picked up from her mother, Helen (1930-2017) and father Eddie (1927-2021). She looked forward to the biyearly Friedheim Family Reunion and leaves behind t-shirts and fond memories of her many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Family and friends, the next time you are at a beach, think of Denise, and remember, “Never go straight, go forward.”
A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00pm Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the Micanopy Pavilion at Okeeheelee Park, 7500 Forest Hill Blvd., West Palm Beach, FL 33413.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations can be made in Denise’s honor to the American Lung Association www.lung.org.
