Along with many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased in death by his parents, William and America Ball, siblings Paul Ball, Pearl Ball, Mary Bass and John Ball.
Earl was born in Harlan, Kentucky on May 24, 1922. His favorite career was working in the coal mines of Kentucky. After moving to Florida, he worked at Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach and JFK Hospital in Lake Worth. In 1968, The Lake Worth Towers Residences was built and opened. Earl worked there as their Maintenance Supervisor through 2001 and remained a resident there until May of this year. 52 years of being a Lake Worth Towers family member.
Earl was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and served in World War II touring most of India. He earned the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon and Victory Medal.
Earl enjoyed playing the slots at the casinos and watching boxing and college ball games. He was always content sitting in his recliner with his cat he adored, in his lap, doing a word search or watching the games. Growing up he enjoyed bowling and fishing with his family in the foothills of Kentucky. He had many fond memories he shared with us of his family growing up and huge family meals of biscuits and gravy, pinto beans, corn bread and poke sallet. And a good cold glass of buttermilk.
He was ready to go home with the Lord and told his family not to be sad and that we would know where his soul would be. He was looking forward to seeing his mother and father but mostly his granny that he said he always had a special bond with.
