George Francis Ankner

George Francis Ankner passed on September 15, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on November 4, 1960, in Camden, NJ, George lived in Greenacres, Florida. Funeral Services for George will be on Friday, September 25th, 2026 at: Saint Herman of Alaska Orthodox Church, 7900 S Military Trail, Lake Worth, FL (one block south of Hypoluxo Rd on the right). Family and friends will gather from 10:00am – 11:00am. Funeral Services begin at 11:00am (1.5 – 2 hours). In lieu of flowers: guests are invited to take time after the funeral service to have a nice meal with friends and family in George’s honor and memory. Afterward: if attending, family will meet at Lake Worth Memory Gardens 3:30pm Graveside Prayers / and Burial (The Graveside Service is private for immediate family, invited loved ones, and Priest only). “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore, comfort one another with these words.”

Lord have mercy.

O God of spirits and of all flesh, Who hast trampled down death and overthrown the devil, and given life to Thy world, do Thou, the same Lord, give rest to the soul of Thy departed servant George Francis, in a place of brightness, a place of refreshment, a place of repose, where all sickness, sighing, and sorrow have fled away.

Pardon every transgression which he had committed, whether by word or deed or thought. For Thou art a good God and lovest mankind; because there is no man who lives yet does not sin, for Thou only art without sin, Thy righteousness is to all eternity, and Thy word is truth.

For Thou are the Resurrection, the Life, and the Repose of Thy servant who have fallen asleep, O Christ our God, and unto Thee we ascribe glory, together with Thy Father, who is from everlasting, and Thine all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever unto ages of ages.

Amen.”
