

Gladys was born on January 6, 1933 in Jatibonico, Cuba. She was the daughter of Alfredo Borroto and Juana Alfonso and was part of a large family which included 7 siblings. Gladys grew up in Cuba and married Antonio Ortiz.
In 1970 after her husband passed away, she moved to New York with her daughters to start a new life. Gladys was a homemaker and a seamstress. She had a passion for sewing, cooking, family and attending church.
She enjoyed reading the bible, playing dominoes, dancing, and spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
Gladys was preceded in death by her mother (Juana Alfonso), father (Alfredo Borroto), brothers (Alfredo Jr., Guillermo, Rene, Pepe, Roberto) and sisters (Hilda, Aida).
Gladys is survived by her daughters Mercedes Pazmino (Eduardo) and Liliana Vasquez as well as her niece Nancy Carreno who was like a daughter to her. She leaves behind her five grandchildren: Ruben, Kathy, Susan, Brad, Eduardo Jr. and her 8 great grandchildren: Gabriel, Nayelli, Kelsey, Noel, Carson, Ezra, Alina, and Molly.
Service will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery (3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, Florida 33461) at 10:00 a.m.
