To Donavan Smellie and family, Patrick Smellie and family,  the wife and family of the late Glendon Smellie , we express our deepest condolences.  I taught Glendon Mathematicas at Manchester High School , Mandeville Jamaica.  He was very respectful,  responsible and alert. He also exhibited the family traits of dignity,  virtue and humility . In 2019, he met with some of his classmates and myself for dinner. It was a refreshing experience.  Glendon you are greatly missed.  REST IN PEACE .

Glen had a beautiful spirit, a contagious laugh and the very best hugs ever!!  He had a way of making you feel special and like you really mattered to him.  I was truly blessed to have had the opportunity to know and work with him.  On Earth he will be missed but if Heaven is all the things we love, then Glen is dressed to the nines,  driving some outrageous car, ridiculously fast and singing God's praises.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Glen's passing. I had the pleasure of knowing Glen personally and the good fortune to work with him professionally. He will always be remembered as a wonderful man who was caring, kind and considerate. He will always be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

I was lucky to have Glen and Cindy as friends and neighbors in both Florida and North Carolina. We shared some wonderful times together and laughter came easily and frequently. When they were building their mountain dream home, I tagged along for many shopping expeditions. We looked at all the appliances and furniture that the Asheville stores had to offer. 
However, one of my favorite memories of Glen involves a trip to the Dillard’s outlet. Did I mention that he was a bit of a clothes horse?  It was like watching a kid in a candy store! Glen was so excited about the great bargains he found! Cindy and I practically had to drag him out of the store. 
Glen was always so much fun. I will miss him terribly.

Glendon was my escort  on Graduation Day. I remember him as a kind and cordial student who always had a welcoming smile and a gentle, confident touch. 
I pray that you will be comforted that his life touch mine in a  positive, treasured  way as you journey on, preparing for that great "Getting Up Morning"!

Glen was one of my very close friend, neighbor and brother including  Donovan and  Patrick. Glen was very competitive in  sports, cricket, table tennis and football. He would always brag that he would win. While playing any of the sports listed against Glen , he would give you a lecture or constantly tease us. Glen so competitive that he would remind Donnie , Patrick and I that he could shine Reverend Smellie car much better than the three us of. Glen was a very good driver. He loved driving very fast. I
Loved him as a true , happy , handsome and very  fun loving person. Rest In Peace my brother.

Glen was the perfect gentleman. I’ll always remember his lovely smile, laughter, and his love of music. I’d spend hours listening to
music with him, Donovan and Pat and their house in Kingston in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Never mind the scary ‘hair raising’ drives between Kingston and Mandeville! I wish we’d been better at keeping in touch in recent years. Time goes so fast… My condolences to the whole family.

Dear Cindy and family, so, so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I never got to know Glenn very well, but if he loved you, he was a good soul. God bless and keep you always.

Glen had a way of making you feel good no matter what was happening in your life. 
His personality would light up any room, always full of laughter, the life of any gathering. 
I will miss the fun times we had, the talks about anything and everything, the trips, the jokes. He has been a true friend to me and I will miss him dearly, until we meet again.

Our dear little brother. Was our childhood neighbour for years. All the boys had 2 houses, one by the church and ours on the hill. 
Many times I remember us flying kites on the hill beside your house. 
We were one family.

Glen was simply a gamechanger.  He always had that smile that conveyed confidence and a compelling sense of purpose. I met the Smellie brothers when all of us were in short pants. As a result we are not short on memories. I am particularly grateful for those experiences.  I cannot think of three brothers who were so close.
When Angie and I lived in New York we would get together with Glen on many Saturdays.  The times that we went upstate to pick apples were golden. 
The world changed when Glen was born. It changed because he lived. It changed again when he went to be with our lord.  His impact is indelible.

In fond, cherished and loving memories of a childhood friend and playmate....a time when summers were long and everything was ordinary. Fun........where we ran the pastures freely,  shared many summers in Mandeville, shared pain  and jokes, met new people and even shared familial connections .......and in the unconcerned life in youth, never imagined life would leave us totally unprepared for such destinies.  Distance and time cannot separate these moments.  Rest now in peace my childhood friend and brother.
