Jean King Cauthen peacefully passed in her home on November 2, 2021, at age 95. On September 27, 1926, she was born to the late Lucas Brockington and Irene Kelley King. Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Blayne “Duck” Cauthen, daughter, Jeanne Elizabeth Cauthen, and her brother, Dr. Luke B. King, Jr.

She enjoyed many years of membership and camaraderie with the Richardson Circle Garden Club. Jean was a graduate of Hartsville High School and Orange County Vocational School in Orlando, Florida. Before marriage, Jean was employed by the American Fire and Casualty Co. She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, gardening, and the company of her many close friends.
Jean was a devoted, doting, and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving family members are her daughter, Janet Webb (Guy) of Orlando, FL; daughter, Sharon Parrotto (Mike) of Lake Worth Beach, FL; four grandchildren: Preston Webb (Stephanie), Elizabeth Webb, Maggie Cunningham (Ted), Hannah Dunn (Wade); and three great-grandchildren: Josephine Webb, Ella Grace Webb, and Atticus Dunn.
Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the kind and devoted staff at The Carlisle Palm Beach assisted-living community and Trustbridge Hospice Care for their constant care and devotion to Jean’s comfort, well-being, and happiness.
