After graduating from Kent State University, Joanne enjoyed teaching elementary education for 28 years in Ohio. She was active in her community and was Worthy Patron of the Palmy Chapter Order of Eastern Stars.
After retirement, they moved to Florida to enjoy the warm, sunny weather and in the summer they enjoyed the Maine weather. Joanne took China painting lessons and eventually taught China painting classes and was a member of the Gold Coast Porcelain organization. She was also involved with the Floral Park Association.
Joanne is survived by her three children: Susan Larsen (Paul), Richard, and Kenneth (Patricia). 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.
A visitation for Joanne will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A prayer service will follow at 2:00 PM and a committal service at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
