
Regional Medical Center near his home in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was born
on January 9, 1928 on a farm outside Bloomsburg, PA. There he graduated from the local elementary and Junior High School, and later Bloomsburg high School, Bucknell University,
Medical School in Philadelphia and then served his internship in Harrisburg, PA.
In 1954, he opened his won medical practice in Dauphin, a small town near
Harrisburg, PA. In 1956, he married Mary Elizabeth Gardner of Harrisburg, PA.,
resulting in a daughter and son. While in business, he was the physician for local schools, sporting events, summer camps, and was active in the Lyons Club, and the Ambulance Association. He was deputy Coroner of Dauphin County in Pennsylvania.
In 1981, after caring for the medical needs of the community for 25 years, he and his wife moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to retire. However, he worked at several jobs in Florida,
the last being a greeter at Wal-mart for nearly 20 years.
His wife Mary preceded his in death in 2007, but he is survived by his daughter Suzanne W. Pilcher of Alexandria, VA., and his son, John A. Whiteknight of Phoenix, AZ., four grandchildren and his sister Emanell Stephens of Bloomsburg, PA. His family will receive
friends on Saturday, September 17, 2011 between 10:00 & 11:00 AM, when his funeral
service will be conducted at the funeral home. Entombment will follow immediately
at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be contributed to
Hospice of Palm Beach County, 5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL. 33407
