In his native Cuba as a young entrepreneur be began selling goods from farm to farm and later owning grocery stores. When the communist regime took over Cuba they confiscated the grocery stores. He then relocated the family to New Jersey where opened a small restaurant in West New York until 1975.
At this time the family moved to Palm Springs. He then opened Papitas Retaurant which was one of Palm Beach Counties first Cuban restaurants. For the next 25 years he operated Papitas with his son Rafael.
He was a beloved husband, loving father, a hard working family man, who was loved by all that knew him.
Survived by his loving wife Juana, sons Juan and Rafael; daughter in law Pura; grandchildren Tania (Bill) and Daniel (Dipika); great grandchild Kid Zara.
A visitation for Juan will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A prayer service will occur at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at Lake Worth Memory Gardens.
