On Wednesday, June 7, 2023, June E. Southgate went to meet Jesus. She will be forever remembered by her children, Diana Daniels (David) and Ray Southgate (Penny), her grandchildren, Sheri McClelland and Troy Dukes, her brother, Earl Elswick, and her great grandchildren. June was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Herbert, and her grandson, David Southgate.
June graduated high school at the age of 17 and moved shortly thereafter to Washington, D.C., where she had several jobs. One of the most memorable was working the switchboard at the Department of Agriculture, the largest switchboard in the world. June loved to travel and made three trips to Europe, a trip to Israel, and a cruise to Alaska, among other trips.
June loved Jesus and she loved her church. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00AM, at Grace Bible Church, 3181 Kirk Road, Palm Springs, FL, 33461. She will be laid to rest with her loving husband in the Veteran's Cemetery.
