Been over a year now and the  pain is so unbearable without you here to grow old with me  .to laugh and love with.  miss u so much babe forever in my heart until I see u again 

I have worked with Nick for 12 years. Whenever I needed answers to any hard questions, my partner at my firm and I would call Nick. We called him the "go to guy". He always took the time to explain things to us thoroughly, and I could tell he truly cared about us and everyone around him. We will truly miss him. Brad Ball and Adam Tasse

I will never forget Leo.  I went to grade school and high school with him, but more than that, we were both from "The Grove" area.  We spent a lot of time together when we were younger.  I remember when he, Ronnie W., my brother (Terry), and I went to summer camp together in 1981 or '82.  We were little terrors! 

I remember summer days riding my bike over to his home and, for some strange reason, I will never forget listening to Kim Carnes "Bette Davis Eyes" and Journey "Separate Ways" in his bedroom.  I have no idea why that memory sticks so clearly in my mind, but it always has. 

We lost touch many years ago, probably after high school, but I do think of him every now and then, and always will.  My deepest condolences to the family and friends he left behind.  Rest in peace brother.

Nick and I went to school together. I met him in 7th grade when his school merged into mine in Okawville. I remember him being very funny, fiercely competitive, and always very nice! Please except my condolences for your loss.

I went to grade school and high school with Nick and haven’t seen him in years but have some fun memories growing up.  My sympathies to his family and loved ones.

I am very sorry to hear of Nick’s passing last evening. I am keeping Angie in my prayers.  I had the privilege of working with Nick for 18 months and grew to know and respect his appreciation for people and his knowledge. 

Nick always viewed the prism from the “people side” first.  He was always supportive of his friends and colleagues and made everyone feel welcome around him. 

May the Peace of Christ comfort Angie, Nick’s family and friends.

Nick was such a nice guy,  so outspoken about his love for his wife Angie and his love for music and cars with me.  We spent many family gatherings talking about his challenger and trips he and Angie would go on in it.  About my mustang, and his brother Ed's Firebird,  different new blues guitar players that he had heard on the radio, or locally at a concert he had recently been to,  I am going to miss his friendliness and our long talks about life but what I will miss most of all is the happiness that he brought to my Mother in law Angela Schaeferle.  The happiness he so outwardly expressed to everyone that he spoke to about how proud he was that Angie was his beautiful wife.   He was a proud husband and a really down to earth guy that loved the outdoors, cars and music.    Rest in Peace to my Father in law, watch over us and know we have you in our thoughts until we all meet again. 

He was the most  amazing soul ive ever met! He loved unconditionally. And had the biggest heart ever.. always doing for others without hesitation.   Loved live music and animals..fishing. traveling..and riding his motorcycle! I will love and miss you always  babe .i will cherish all of our memories together  i am broken. i am lost without you .. i love you rip my best friend💙

My last memory of Nick....Nick had just met his grandson, John. He was happier than I had ever seen him! We went to Dinsey and had so much fun. Little John loved Nick's race car (the challenger). We danced and sang around Disney. I thought we would have more moments like this one. I miss you. Amanda 

Nick has always had a great sense of humor, and my favorite story is when we had gone on vacation to California and we went to the beach. We were teenagers and Nick went out into the water, swam around for a bit, then took off his leg, held it in the air while thrashing about yelling "shark!!". It was hilarious!

Nick was the brother God never gave me by blood. I treasure every memory and will miss him always.

Nick was my first hero, the first person I remember playing with, the person who taught me how to ride a motor cycle,  he is also the person who pulled me off the motor cycle when I didn’t recall how to stop.  He is the person who told me I need to stand up for
Myself after he had just done so.  Take no sh-t.  As an adult he let me know he was proud of me.  I love you, Uncle Nick.  You will be missed.

Leo ( Nick ) was a very kind hearted free spirit. He loved to tell old jokes that his father told him.  He loved music festivals. He was an animal lover. He liked to fish, hike and kayak.  He would give his last penny or shirt off his back to help "anyone". He was a good listener. I am left today with a heavy heart. 
When I think of Nick at this moment, I would like to think he is on a beach with Foster and Spot and he is smiling and jamming out to some GROOVY tunes.
He will be greatly missed.


I so enjoyed working with Nick, he shared a lot of wisdom and war stories of our business. I liked the wrestle with alligators story  the best.
 I am sad to hear about his passing. May G-d's mercy bless his family and friends.
