Mabel H. Nelson

She was born and raised in Amesbury, MA, and a graduate of Amesbury H.S.

Class of 1940. She left Amesbury to join the U.S. Navy and became a WAVE.

During that time she met her future husband Donald, Sr. and they married in 1946

while they both served their country. She and Donald moved to Florida in 1956.

In 1978 she began to work at the Atlantis Golf Club retiring from there in

1987. Mabel was a member of the Crafting Club at Good Shepherd United

Methodist Church in West Palm Beach.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald M Nelson in 2005, her brother

Thomas Hodge and sisters: Catherine Hodge, Ruth Murphy, Margaret Bailey, and Doris Hodge; her parents, Mabel Inez Talbot and Peter Thomas Hodge.

Her survivors include: 7 CHILDREN: Nancy ( Stanley) Dabrowski of Boca Raton,

Donna Fletcher of Wellington, Peter ( Suzi) Nelson, of Palm Beach Gardens,

Donald ( Cheryl) Nelson, Jr. of Coral Springs, Eric ( Connie) Nelson, Sr. of Seffner,

Faye ( Joe) Vidulich of Port Charlotte, Glenn ( Linda) Nelson of Boynton Beach.

She also leaves to cherish her memory 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, her sister-in-law Lily Hodge of Amesbury, MA., and brother-in-law Dr. Leonard ( Rita) Nelson of Charleston,

West Virginia and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the funeral home, between 1:00 & 2:00 PM.

Mabel's life will then be celebrated at 2:00 PM at the funeral home. She will then be laid to rest immediately following at Lake Worth Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation 1040 Woodcock Road, Ste # 119, Orlando, Fl. 32803.
