He graduated from high school in 1955. A veteran of the Army,he spent three years serving in the Security Agency Division. He earned his certificate of accounting from the Lincoln School of Commerce in 1964.
Four years later in 1968 he was married to his beautiful wife Eleanor Carol Palliser. They enjoyed 50 wonderful years together.
He spent 24 years working as an accountant for the citrus industry before retiring in December 2001. He, along with his wife and family enjoyed The summers in his vacation home in Linville, North Carolina.
He was a proud and devoted dad to Kevin Scott Reiling(Katrina) and Lisa Hopkins(Brian) . He adored his five grandchildren; Emma Hopkins, Abby Hopkins ,Brady Hopkins ,Jordan Reiling and Addison Reiling. He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Reiling and sister-in-law Nancy and nieces Heidi, Kelly and Tina. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Emelia Reiling,his wife Carol Reiling and sister Karen Reiling.
He was known for his kindness and was a humble man with the love for his Lord that was always evident. He exuded praise for his Savior right up until the day God called him home and this was a wonderful testimony to how he lived his life.
He had a love a football ,especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Miami Dolphins and enjoyed gardening ,taking great pride in his yard and keeping a meticulous lawn with beautiful landscaping and flowers.
Marlin will always be remembered as a family man with a servants heart. He was a man of great integrity and valued prayer, and his relationship with his Lord and Savior. He gave of his time so willingly to help others and stewarded much of his earnings to those in need. He also will be remembered for his service to his church.
He was a member of the Gideons for over 30 years, taught Sunday school for 23 years and served as a deacon and treasurer at his church at First Baptist of Hypoluxo and his former church at Palm Springs Baptist.
He was a blessing to everyone he knew and we will treasure the memories forever… until we meet again.
A gathering of family & friends for Marlin will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A Celebration of Life Service will occur Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 5:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Hypoluxo, 7479 Overlook Road, Lantana, FL 33462. A graveside service will occur Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Lake Worth Memory Gardens, 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461.
