June 5, 1926 – November 29, 2018
GLAUBER, Marvin Marvin Glauber, 92, of Juno Beach FL passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 29, 2018. Marv was born June 5, 1926 in Brooklyn, N.Y. and raised in Connecticut and Westchester County, N.Y. He was extremely proud of his military service aboard the USS Lansdowne during World War II. He oversaw Elmsford Interstate Building Material Corp in Elmsford, White Plains and Irvington N.Y., a family business that ran four generations. He was a member of several civic organizations including the Elmsford Rotary and Chamber of Commerce, White Plains Jaycees, and the Jewish War Veterans. For Marv, golf was important, too. Not just because he was good at it, but because of what the game represented...no short-cut and a player is judged by his honesty. He was a long time member of Ridgeway Country Club in White Plains, and Eastpointe CC in Palm Beach Gardens Looking back on his long life, he had no regrets. “I’ve done everything,” he once said. “I’ve seen everything. I’ve accomplished everything that satisfied me. I think of nothing that has to be done before I die, except to live and keep my family close to me because they’re the most important people in my life.” Marv was predeceased by his parents, Estelle and Jack Glauber, brother Erwin Glauber, stepson Donald O'Brien and “Jackie,” Jacquelyn Hansen Glauber his beloved wife of 45 years. Marv is survived by his sons Tom (Bonnie) Glauber, Rich Glauber, Bob (Jutta) Glauber, Bill (Priya) Glauber and Mick Glauber; stepdaughter Cheryl (David) Ackner); 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren The family would also like to express sincere appreciation to Marvin's in-home care-givers and companions over the past several years, Ginger Aaronson, Ed Ortega, Marta Jimenez, and Loyda Celis. As well as his many friends from Nordstrom at the Gardens Mall
A funeral service will be on Sunday Dec 2 at Dorsey-E. Earl Smith Funeral Home. 3041 Kirk Road, Lake Worth, FL 33461. A private military burial will follow at the South Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be considered to Fisher House, helping veterans and their families. http://www.fisherhouse.org

Marvin and his late wife Jackie, were friends and neighbors of ours in White Plains. We shared some very good times and they will always remain in our hearts. We wish the family comfort in your time of loss and share your sorrow, but rejoice in having known Marvin and Jackie.
